Is it just us, or does Spring seem right around the corner? Ok, I admit it, this might be because it's 80+ degrees in LA and I've gone bare-legged the last three days. But seriously, once the holidays are over I start yearning for florals and lace and the banishing of tights to the back of my closet.

The first wave of our Spring Jeffrey Campbells have just arrived and I do believe they are majorly fantastic. I can see the Rock Lace with some thick grey tights now and a bare legged, sundress mix later. A Spring in our Step

If you follow us on Twitter, you might have caught wind of the spring season buying spree that went on last week around these parts. As you probably could have guessed, Jeffrey Campbell was the most exciting part of that trip to downtown LA. We giddily rushed around the booth, grabbing shoes off the shelves like two kids in a candy store. After careful editing (budgets must be met *sigh*) we came out with a stunning number of Spring shoes that are be-yond, to say the very least. Details must be kept on the down low but I can say : clear panels, teeny heart printed fur, butterflies, something that will make you forget Lita ever existed, eyelet, bold primary colors on a shape that will blow your mind, and so. much. more. We kind of died, you will die, and it will all be here before you know it. I'm saying my prayers that winter will pass quickly and I urge you to do the same.

Shoes get our blood flowing, but also notable for spring is UNIF. There was so much flowy fabulousness going on in their showroom that I had a hard time focusing on the task at hand. Not to mention the most perfect pair of cutoffs ever (EVER).

Safe to say spring will be major. Raise your hand if you, like us, can hardly contain your excitement.

We got a big box of Jeffrey Campbell bags yesterday and dare I admit that I almost peed my pants? You see, I first spotted this little round suede crossbody bag at LA Transit a few short months ago. The gorgeous colorway was enough to send me over the edge, but the addition of a leopard print fur flap---dear Lord in heaven. It took everything I had in me not to resort to lies and thievery and leave with this gem shoved under my sweater.

I was able to control my impulses and simply place an order for Plum for Polly and slowly back away from the samples table. And looks like my discipline paid off, cause they got here SUPER quick. Western Beauties

You all know how much I love my crazy JC's. Even though most of them make me over 6 foot tall, even though I've suffered the occasional stumble, even though people stare (it's happened) I still have a closet full of rather impractical, amazingly fabulous shoes.

But you know what? Recently I've found myself taking it down a notch. My older son started Pre-K and there's something slightly humiliating about being the only mom at drop-off stomping around in a Lita boot. I know, I know...I'm the "fashion" mom but in reality it's kind of the same feeling as showing up to play tennis, dressed in a ball gown and a tiara. You look ridiculous, you feel out of place, and the side-eye that happens is excruciating.

That's where these next few shipments of JC come into play. They're amazing, they're special, but most of all they're infinitely wearable. These two are the first wave, with a few more to come in the next couple of weeks. Let me tell you about how much I adore Roswell, that distressed black beauty of a cut-off cowboy boot. It's SO incredibly soft and expensive looking. And I can think of 100 million things it would look perfect with all through the coming Fall and Winter. Not to mention how hot it would be at Coachella next year with cut-offs and a tank?? JC better be patting himself on the back with regards to this one.

Up and Coming

Over here in the Plum for Polly world, we've just begun to stock scarves and sweaters and all the other Fall staple items. But what we are really thinking about is what you would like to wear come Spring. The fashion world is always on to the next season, and this morning when I went to have a peak at some Spring lines, I couldn't help but long for the end of Winter. Never mind that I have still yet to actually wear a scarf or pair of tights this Fall, and I just busted out all my booties.

We picked up a line called Jarlo for Spring, and let me tell you about how exciting that is. It's all gorgeous dresses with quirky, fun details. Think how your parents dressed you for Easter when you were 7 done in a grown up way with the addition of a bright pop of color. *love* You can sneak peak their current collections HERE and start swooning over how amazing everything is.

Also on the roster for Spring is Plastic Island. There was a blazer in particular that I slipped on and really had to try very hard not to smuggle out of the showroom. It was so so so perfect. But of course that's not all...a vibrant magenta flowy maxi skirt and a sheer tank dress with gorgeous little details were also some of my personal favorites. It's all enough to make a girl wish Fall and Winter didn't even exist.

There's more (white shorts, lightweight knits, Hawaiian-esque florals) but I'll stop there. Stay tuned cause while Fall and Winter will be fabulous in their own right, for today I've got Spring on the mind, and believe me, it's going to be exquisite.

New Week, New Month, New Stuff

So the new arrivals are bursting with goodness as of the end of last week. Lots of you were already all over this and quite a few orders have already shipped with the newness packed lovingly inside. Early favorites have been this gorgeous little number, the Ashley Oversized Blouse :

It's sheer, it's oversized, and you can pretty much do about a million things with it, outfit wise. Tuck it in, wear it under a sweater, wear it over a body con mini...I could on but I'll leave the rest up to your imagination.

Another one that's been popping up on pretty much every order since Saturday is this oh so pretty Draped Blazer. It comes in camel or dusty plum and I can't really decide which is better cause they're both amazing.

Another favorite is the Nora Navajo Wrap. Remember the Nina Navajo Wrap? It sold out in the blink of an eye and when we went to order more, no more were to be had. Don't fret, because Nora is just as good or dare I say, better? There's something about the subdued palette that makes it more versatile and wearable. This one is reversible too and can be worn as a scarf.

Can we talk about how excited I am that it is currently scarf weather? I don't know what it is about a scarf that makes me so happy, but every year when September rolls around, I pull out my giant laundry basket full of them (yup) and gleefully paw through it like a crazy person. Among my favorites are big, chunky infinity scarves. There's something so cozy about them and I've been known to persist in wearing one, even if the day warms up and I start to sweat. That's true love.

So believe me as a scarf expert when I tell you that these ones we just got in at Plum for Polly are good. In fact, they're great. There's nothing better than coming home from a trip and finding your front porch stacked with boxes. If you follow me on Twitter, you will already know that we just slipped over to Hawaii for a few days of sun and sand and late summer fun. And if you were thinking "Jeez, take enough vacations, do ya?" hold on right there why I explain. There is a method to our madness and I'll let you in on a little top secret behind the scenes info. We are seriously thinking of opening an actual Plum for Polly, one with a big comfy sofa, heaps of beautiful shoes, and hopefully -- if all my wishes come true -- an exposed brick wall. We've been looking at spaces in LA and weren't really blown away by anything. But Hawaii is a whole other story. We spent the time we were there meeting with real estate agents, hoofing around town getting a feel for all the different neighborhoods, and eventually falling in love with the Downtown/Chinatown area. It's like a little urban pocket of Oahu that feels more like downtown San Francisco than anything. Locals tell us it's an up and coming area with boutiques and specialty shops sprouting up here and there within just the past six months. Eek!

It's all very pre-pre-pre planning stages but cross your fingers for us! I could jump up and down with excitement just thinking about it :) xo

I have a love hate relationship with denim, probably like most women out there. I'm super tall so it's agonizingly hard to find something that fits, is comfortable, and is affordable all at the same time. That's why I'm having a hard core happy fit that we just got in Blank NYC Denim for Fall. Not only is this an affordable brand (most of their denim falls under $100 bucks) the fit is crazy good. Honest to God, there's a stack in my closet dedicated to just Blank Jeans.

And our love affair just got hotter and heavier with the introduction of these grey skinnies. They're comfortable like leggings (or "jeggings" if you dare) but let me stress this---they're NOT jeggings. They're NOT that type of uber thin, showing every lump and bump denim. I would describe them as jeans cleverly disguised as jeggings. The faux front pockets are my favorite part. There's no pulling them up then struggling to get the pocket to lay flat against you leg. The fit is incredible, the wash is amazing, Blank NYC really did kill it with these. Shop them here!

Not to be forgotten is this rad denim maxi. Yes, that's right -- denim maxi. I used to make fun of my college roommate for wearing a denim maxi, but what goes around, comes around cause this look is all the rage for Fall/Winter. We just got back from a quick 3 day trip to Las Vegas. It was a working holiday, a chance to both hang out and hit one of the biggest tradeshows in the country. But to be honest, a large bulk of my time was spent with these two little guys. I don't have a whole ton of time on my hands to just be with them, so I took advantage of every moment and left all manner of electronics in our room while we went elsewhere. We spent hours upon end at the pool, we lounged, we laughed, and at the end of the days we all collapsed in an exhausted, blissful heap. These two are the best companions a girl could ask for on a vacation, working or not.

For scarves! *claps hands* I'm a sucker for scarves, and I'm a sucker for aztec print so when these two things combine into one cozy object, you know I pretty much freak out. I came upon this blanket style aztec printed shawl / scarf / vest hybrid at Nordstrom when I was shopping for a birthday present for my mom. I immediately removed it from the mannequin and tried it on, marveling at how amazing it was. Not only was it pretty and drapey and fabulous, it was also reversible, making it versatile to boot. I bought it (for my mom, I'm not that selfish) then immediately tracked it down to share with all of you. The company is based in LA and manned by the sweetest guy named Raj. I brought in a few different styles, so I do believe there will be something for everyone. Hump Day

Yesterday was Wednesday and just like any other normal day, I woke up to this view. I'm not sure why this one has been finding his way into our bed in the middle of the night, but when I asked him he said "I'm scared, Mommy" in the most pitiful little voice that broke my heart. Haha.

Unlike any other normal day, I had a meeting with the one and only JC. *happy dance* *heart attack* Of course I wore JC shoes...I love these. So comfy, but so pretty on the foot and versatile to boot. They have definitely been one of my go-to's through every season.

I was pleasantly surprised to see JC rocking the cover of the show magazine...

And then --- BAGS GALORE....this photo is a little blurry, cause I am pretty sure my hands were shaking and I was gasping for breath.

Oh yeah, and JC mens...if I were a guy, I would wear shoes like this. Isn't it so amazing? I kinda wanna introduce Plum for Polly mens (Plum for Paul? Peter?) just to stock these.

OK, that's all the sneak peeks concerning JC I have for you. I ordered some new stuff for Plum for Polly and ran away before I died of over stimulation. Everything is just too too good. I will tell you we have this in store for the future--floral velvet clutches, patchwork leather with fringe, an amazing new silhouette for holiday, a beautiful black and gold colorway, and of course, much more.

The rest of the day was sort of anti-climatic, but we did play around in some crazy accessories stores. I adore this ring, but left it behind, then ordered it from one of my internet besties here. I know it's ridiculous, but I kind of like it.

I wear a LOT of crazy shoes. My go-to footwear during the week is usually at least 4 inches, somewhat uncomfortable, and almost impossible to walk around in for long stretches at a time. And I'm completely ok with that. But things change when it comes to the weekend. Besides being a beach bum, I've got two teeny kids to chase after and/or carry around. I almost never wear heels Saturday or Sunday, mostly cause it's impossible and come on, you kind of look like an asshole if you wear heels at the beach.

Among my most favorite of favorite flat footwear is moccasins. Please don't think I'm crazy when I tell you that I have over 10 pairs. I REALLY like them. They really are the perfect weekend shoe. I wear them in the summer with itty bitty stuff like shorts and dresses (yes, they're constantly full of sand) through fall with knee socks or tights, in the winter (no brainer) and although Spring is pushing it, I've made it work.

They have a special sole that is made to handle snow and other winter type elements but it's super thin and durable making these perfect for any environment, even a concrete, sidewalk pounding sort of one. Did you miss me on the Plum for Polly Blog? Did you even notice I was gone? Ha ha...We just got back from a whirlwind 5 days in Japan. Yes, that's right--spent over 24 hours in total flight time for 5 short days of heat, humidity, sushi, mosquitos, cold beer, family, friends, and lots of jetlag. It was kind of amazing. I didn't bust out my camera that often, cause I was hot and being weighed down with anything non-essential just wasn't happening. So here's a peek at our trip, via my Iphone.

LAX to Korea: 13 hours. Korea layover: 2 hours. Korea to Fukuoka, Japan: 1 hour.

The Fourth of July weekend has now come and gone, passing by in the blink of an eye. We didn't really do anything special or out of the ordinary, just lots of beach, beer, and lounging around. If you think Plum for Polly is missing you're partly right. We got major changes in the works today to better meet all your shopping needs. Nothing to serious, just shuffling some stuff around, reorganization, additions, subtractions. But it does entail taking the site down for a bit this morning. So while we deeply regret leaving a momentary Plum for Polly shaped hole in your world, we will be right back. Within a few hours at most. This delivery from MinkPink was only one style. But wait, don't despair because it just happened to be the most awesome article of clothing EVER! Not only is it a maxi dress (you know by now that I am extremely obsessed with them) it's flowy and loose, a versatile color that looks good on most everyone, and the best part---it has pockets. I happen to believe that pockets make everything better. We received it last week and I wore it the very next day (as seen here on my somewhat shadowy Instagram feed).

Oh, Canada

After much debate around these parts, I am super sad and sorry to say that we will not be shipping to Canada for the time being. If you don't know already, the Canadian postal service is currently on strike, and no Canadian packages are being accepted by the USPS. Even UPS won't accept packages to some rural parts of Canada. I am heartbroken for all my Canadian girls, but am keeping my fingers crossed that all the issues are resolved soon and we can resume selling to all of you. My sincerest apologies.
